About This Painting:

Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican Holiday celebrated on November 2 which honours the lives of the dead. Sugar skulls are used to decorate alters and gravestones. Often the skulls will be decorated with symbols representing the deceased. While most depictions of skulls in Western culture tend towards the gruesome, sugar skulls are a positive symbol of celebration and remembrance.

We'll pre-sketched the outline of the skull prior to the event to give you more time to paint your own details. Follow along with the instructor or customize your design with different symbols and colours.
